It's been magical witnessing Luka Dončić in the NBA over the last seven years. Those who were tapped in with the Slovenian's time with Real Madrid were well-aware of his gifts long before he stepped on North American soil. And while his game is different, Dončić boasts a similar ruthlessness as His Airness once displayed on basketball's biggest stages. To commemorate the occasion, Jordan Brand will release a "Bloodline" capsule of the guard's signature sneaker line.
Akin to so many of the most iconic Air Jordan models, the impending collection features Chicago Bulls-friendly colors. Both the Jordan Luka 4 and Jordan Luka .77 indulge in some variety of the "White/Black/Gym Red" medley. The results are two high-performing basketball silhouettes for the modern game that harken back to Michael Jordan's dominance of the League.
Dončić debuted his fourth signature sneaker with Team Jumpman in a February matchup against his former Dallas Mavericks. Last night, the Los Angeles Lakers guard dropped 45 points on his ex-squad, leading Jordan Brand to launch a trailer for the fictional film, The Trial of Luka Dončić. His crime?: Being a bad, bad man with some nice shoes.
Both "Bloodline" versions of the Luka 4 and Luka .77 could very well be mistaken for mainline Air Jordan designs. The made-for-outdoor-play offering closely resembles pairs like the Air Jordan 34, although its lower trim has been built for Dončić's preferred fit.
All the bells-and-whistles that've helped the 26-year-old drop more than 40 points on the Mavs appear on the Bulls-friendly options: Cushlon 3.0 foam; Air Zoom units; and a fine-tuned IsoPlate. Therefore, both Jordan Luka shoes will perform whether on the NBA hardwood or public blacktop court.
Enjoy official photos of the "Bloodline" duo by the Jumpman family below. According to a press release shared with House of Heatº by the brand, the pairs will only release via Nike.com/Jordan outside of North America. Stay tuned for any updates on this front. The Luka 4 retails for $130, whereas the Luka .77 offers top-notch performance at just $100.
