Arguably Jordan Brand’s best Frankenstein hybrid offering to date, the Spike Lee-honoring Spizike is a tribute to the Brooklyn-born filmmaker’s contributions to the Jumpman brand and sneaker culture as a whole. The hybrid takes most of its design elements from the Air Jordan 3, 4, 5, 6 and 9 silhouettes, to form one hell of an eye-catching design. And now it’s borrowing a colorway from another silhouette — one we recently saw transferred to the Nike LeBron 16 — the Lebron 3 “Glow in the Dark” PE.
As mentioned above, the black-based, glow-in-the-dark-soled colorway stems from LeBron’s 2014 sample of his third signature sneaker and was recently adapted to his sixteenth, releasing at retailers last month. Now it’s Spizike’s time to shine — or glow — with the silhouette donning the same all-black upper paired with glow sole units, and green glow brand accents. Nubuck is the material of choice, paired with patent leather overlays, textile lining and leather Elephant Print overlays — each arriving in jet black. Completing the design is translucent lace locks, and Mars Blackmon / 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks co-branding on the heels.
