Unlike other signature series from the likes of Russell Westbrook or Kyrie Irving, DNA from the Jordna Zion series has clearly not carried over into his proceeding design, with a complete overhaul of the silhouette acting like a big reset button for the infant series. Sole units look compressed, with Zoom Air noted at the forefoot strap — another new inclusion — both elements that benefit the bigger, heavier player. There appears to be more reinforcement at the heel, toe, and lateral sides — because we all know he needs it after blowing out his PG’s at Duke — with a slightly lower rise at the collar, and significantly less padding around the area, too.
Color-wise, Zion hasn’t lost much of his flamboyance, with a simple white perforated leather and mesh forefoot met by striking kaleidoscope colors across the outsole. It’s rear-ended by black nubucks, complete with green Jumpmen at the heel, and aqua Zion motifs at the tongue.
