Over the last few years, Nike, Inc. has prepped multi-pair collections inspired by the Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) festivities of Mexico and other Central American countries. This year, it seems the Oregon-based conglomerate's lineup is dubbed "Somos Eternos," which translates from Spanish to mean "We are eternal."

Although the full extent of the collection has yet to be revealed by the brand, Japan's atmos has shared a first official look at the "Somos Eternos" Air Jordan 1 Low retro. The pair is clad in a "Denim Turquoise/Red Stardust/Light Stone/Smoky Blue" color scheme that differs from the yellow and orange found on last year's "Somos Familia" capsule. Nevertheless, the commemorative style features ornate swooshes and collection-specific details on the tongue and insole.

The "We are eternal" messaging is fitting of any Day of the Dead initiative given the belief behind the Nov. 1 holiday. Friends, family, and loved ones remember those who've physically transitioned to another life on Día de Muertos, people whose memory lives on through those still left on Earth. The Air Jordan's shoe box enjoys matte gold Somos Eternos text, and seemingly arrives with a 23-branded candles sticker referencing the source of light set up at altars and gravesites for the day of remembrance.

Stay tuned for at least two other "Somos Eternos" pairs to surface by the end of October. (The aforementioned "Somos Familia" collection included the Air Max 90, Air Force 1, and Dunk High.) Pairs should release globally via Nike.com before November begins.
