First appearing in August 2017, Drake’s OVO x Air Jordan 4 “Splatter” has since been the subject of immense speculation. The whispers were put on hold during his short-lived sneaker free agency, and now a new round of rumors is circulating, putting the pair up for release in early 2020. This comes after detailed shots of the OVO-branded pair have surfaced across multiple sources, with some suggesting a release as early as January/February 2020.
For those of you playing at home, this Air Jordan 4 is actually based on an unreleased sample from 1989 (pictured below), but it does come with a few minor additions: an OVO Owl hidden away behind the rear heel tab, and OVO/6 God branding hits beneath the insoles. If we compare these to the OG Bred 4s, you can also see some key differences, including the use of white on the liners, eyelets, and underlays, as well as contrast stitching on the tongue tags and — the most obvious — the tri-color splatter effects riding the heel tabs and midsoles.
