Rui Hachimura x Air Jordan 36 “Sakura” Appears Ahead of Autumn

Washington Wizards Power Forward Rui Hacimura has been the centerpiece of the brand’s efforts in Japan, with the big man now reaching a similar level of status to Chinas Guo Ailin in his respective country. A big part of that plan revolves around special-edition colorways designed with Rui in mind. With the big fella already delivering a handful of Jordans earlier this year, he now joins the likes of fellow Jumpman athletes in Jayson Tatum and Luka Doncic for another, the Rui Hachimura x Air Jordan 36 “Sakura,” which once again pays tribute to the Forward’s heritage.

Featuring traditional woven silk upper that rings true to the pair’s title, you’ll spot symbols of good fortune, including the nation’s bird of happiness — the crane — and freshly-bloomed Cherry Blossoms throughout. From there, Jordan Brand borrows the hues to fill out the remainder of the release, including black suede collars and tongues, deep green reap pulls and midsole detail, and striking red streaks throughout. Strokes of metallic gold provide further good luck, with eyestays, co-branded embroidery, and rear detailing proffering the metallic finish. Lastly, a milky-translucent rubber outsole rounds out the design.

A release date for this new Rui Hachimura x Air Jordan 36 “Sakura” has not yet been announced, but it is expected to land before year’s end. Until confirmation arrives, grab an official look at the pair here below, and be sure to keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further updates.
