It appears that Rui Hachimura’s epic Air Jordan 8won’t be a solo release, with the Power Forward’s Japanese them carrying over to an accompanying Jordan Series 01 “Dear Rui”
Though it utilizes many of the same elements from his Air Jordan 8, it’s vastly different in appearance. You can pin pretty much most of that down to its heavy use of black, because it still features the same relic-like rust to the mid panel, like-for-like Asian geometric designs, and Rui’s logo at the tongue. The colors used are identical, though served up in different proportions. There’s also the introduction of suede at the toes, and striking red outsoles. The pair is then completed by special packaging — though not as epic as the Air Jordan 8 – and graphic insoles that carry over from the accompanying release.
