Air Jordan 8 “Knicks” Headlines Jordan Brand’s “Idols Become Rivals” Series

SLAM JAM and Jordan Brand are officially giving us a first look at their upcoming Air Jordan 8 collaboration, with the Italian retailer bringing its understated design language to one of the boldest silhouettes in the early Jordan line.

Expected to release in Spring 2027, the SLAM JAM x Air Jordan 8 Pack will include two colorways: “Light Bone” and “Iron Grey.” Both pairs were unveiled in Paris alongside other upcoming Jordan Brand samples, offering an early preview of what appears to be a more refined, material-focused take on Michael Jordan’s 1993 signature model.

Founded in Ferrara in 1989, SLAM JAM has long operated at the intersection of streetwear, design, and subculture. That point of view comes through clearly on the early looks, with both Air Jordan 8s leaning into muted tones, textured uppers, and a more fashion-forward finish than the model usually receives.

The “Light Bone” colorway appears in a soft off-white and grey palette, with tonal overlays, a subtle woven-like upper texture, and a dark patterned cross-strap cutting across the midfoot. The pair keeps the Air Jordan 8’s signature structure intact, including its high-cut shape, padded collar, chenille tongue badge, and layered midsole, while stripping the look back through a more neutral lens.

The second pair, expected in “Iron Grey,” offers the darker side of the pack. Early images show a grey-based finish with similar textural detailing across the upper, giving the collaboration a cohesive feel while still separating the two colorways. Together, the pack appears to balance SLAM JAM’s minimalist approach with the Air Jordan 8’s naturally aggressive build.

Originally released in 1993, the Air Jordan 8 remains one of the most distinctive models in the Air Jordan line. Known for its cross-strap system, plush collar, graphic tongue patch, and heavy midsole tooling, the silhouette has not received as many high-profile collaborations as other Jordan models, making this project especially notable.

A first look at accompanying apparel has also surfaced, suggesting the collaboration will extend beyond footwear. While full apparel details have not yet been confirmed, the early preview points to a larger SLAM JAM x Jordan Brand collection arriving alongside the sneakers.

The SLAM JAM x Air Jordan 8 Pack is currently expected to release in Spring 2027 through Nike SNKRS and select retailers. Pricing has not yet been confirmed.
