Miami-based boutique SoleFly is known for its unique and culturally rich collaborations with Jordan Brand. This time, the Carlos Prieto-directed imprint returns with a fresh take on the Air Jordan 8, a design that weaves together the threads of Cuban heritage, baseball nostalgia, and the unmistakable style of Michael Jordan.

Dubbed the SoleFly x Air Jordan 8 “Mi Casa Es Su Casa,” this collaboration is a delightful surprise for fans eagerly anticipating the final design since its initial tease by Prieto back in July. The final product diverges significantly from the early samples, offering a vibrant, visually engaging aesthetic.

At the heart of this design is a celebration of Cuban culture. The sneaker features a tile design commonly found in traditional Cuban homes, beautifully integrated into the wrapping paper and sock liners. This thoughtful detail adds an extra layer of depth to the design, making the shoe feel like a genuine artifact from a bygone era of sportswear.

The inspiration doesn't stop there. The SoleFly x Air Jordan 8 also pays homage to Michael Jordan’s brief foray into minor league baseball, with design elements reminiscent of baseball diamond cleats. Inspired by the familiar fabric of grandmothers’ couches, the mesh and the cigar box-style packaging further root the design in Cuban culture and history.

In a nod to the Alacranes del Almendares, a legendary Cuban baseball team, the sneaker incorporates the team's colors, seamlessly blending sport and cultural history. This connection is deepened by SoleFly's plan to release an exclusive Air Jordan 8 Low for Friends and family, covered in off-white and sail tones, representing the cleats worn on the baseball field.

Enjoy an official look at the SoleFly x Air Jordan 8 below, and expect to see these arrive at select Jumpman stockists and Nike.com on December 16th; SoleFly will get first dibs on a release on December 8th.
