Usher Raymond IV has long established himself as one of music's most talented and influential figures of the modern era. As such, the Texas-native has reached stardom only rivaled by a select group of his peers. Ahead of his Super Bowl LVIII Half-Time performance, Jordan Brand gifted the artist several custom pairs of the Air Jordan 4—including a never-before-seen style he's nicknamed "The Universe."

Shared via his personal Instagram account, a first-look at the exclusive retro showcases one of the more experimental takes to land on Tinker Hatfield's iconic Air Jordan design from 1989. An iridescent patent leather upper couples with a green glow-in-the-dark outsole appropriate of U.S. football's biggest stage. Usher walks us through different details on his gift from Team Jumpman in the video, pointing out special IV numerals on the tongue label, as well as "It's just 15 minutes" messaging on its underside. Elsewhere, the singer's U logo replaces nods to Michel Jordan on the spine while Jumpman text on the footbed includes the custom U emblem to solidify the relationship between two important figures.

The AJ4 Usher ultimately wore during his February 2024 performance opted for a chrome, blue, and black color palette instead, but still featured a number of details specific to the artist.

Enjoy a closer look at the 1-of-1 retro ahead, but don't anticipate the pair ever releasing via Nike.com/Jordan. For sneakers you can cop at retailers, check out the "Black Cat" Jordan 4 launching in November and Nike LeBron 23 debuting ahead of the 2025-26 NBA season.
