First surfacing at ComplexCon last November, Li-Ning’s Way of Wade 8 is finally poised for its global release, with this debut “Team No Sleep” colorway touching down tomorrow morning.
The most futuristic basketball sneaker from Way of Wade to date, it comes packed with packed-to-the-brim with innovation and top-tier tech. First looks from last yearshowed us just how technical these were, with a pulled-apart WOW8 splayed across the table in close to 100 individual pieces. It utilizes a plethora of materials, including Cordura Fabrics, leather and synthetics along the upper with plenty of support pieces. Carbon Fiber is one of those, brought back into the WOW series with a full-length spring plate. Above that, the WOW 8’s midsole utilizes Li-Ning’s leading energy-returning technology, BOOM, for ultimate responsiveness. At the same time, the design heavily reflects the past, and tells stories of Dwyane Wade’s life and career through every minute detail. It literally mimics the DNA of a champion through a wavy high-to-low rise midsole that resembles a strand of DNA, and of course, it arrives in a very South Beach palette of black, teal blue and pink..
