Aminé Presents Glow-in-the-Dark New Balance ABZORB 2000 "Biblioteca" Collab
Portland's very own Aminé is the first person to collaborate on the New Balance ABZORB 2000 for a public release. Ever the storyteller, the pair is inspired by an institution that helped cultivate the artist's curiosity as a child: the library.
Dubbed "Biblioteca," the project plays with many young Spanish language learners' earliest learned phrases: "¿Dónde está la biblioteca?" Aminé's third official collab with New Balance boasts a green color palette across its heritage-inspired upper and futuristic ABZORB SBS-cushioning. The medley of tones reference the library card handed out by the Multnomah County Library during the musician's upbringing. Insoles also feature a fictional card for la biblioteca.
The library inspiration extends onto the packaging. The NB-branded shoe box is stylized as a book depository, complete with a red brick background. Another nod to the Portland-specific reference lands on the top-of-the-tongue, which also features Club Banana Research messaging. Lastly, the "Biblioteca" NB 2000 opts for glow-in-the-dark finishes across upper accents and midsoles, rounding out the fun sneaker collaboration.

Aminé has also asked the public to donate a book to his local library (207 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Portland, OR) between now and Wednesday, Sept. 10, for a chance at a free pair of the "Biblioteca" New Balances. Participants must tag him in an Instagram Story/post of proof of their donation.
