The Basement x New Balance 1906R Collection Releases October 3rd
After much anticipation fueled by social media teasers, London-based collective The Basement is set to unveil its collaboration with New Balance on the 1906R model.
This capsule introduces a distinctly London streetwear edge to the popular tech runner. The Basement's take on the 1906R veers towards monochrome aesthetics, presenting two colorways that merge simplicity with urban flair. One pair adopts a stealthy black with metallic silver overlays and chromatic TPU heel counters, exuding an understated yet bold presence. The other contrasts this with a blend of grey, white, and cream, achieving a softer but equally sophisticated look. Unique to this collaboration, both colorways feature a fishnet-patterned TPU over the mesh, a deviation from the typical general-release models.
Functionality meets fashion with the addition of pull laces and a heel pull tab, enhancing the sneakers' utilitarian aspect. Branding is emphatic, with "BSMNT" text prominently displayed on various parts of the shoe, including large synthetic logos on the tongues, debossed text on the lateral overlays, and a significant graphic on the insoles.
Australia's Up There has a release raffle due to close on October 3rd, with New Balance US offering a first-come, first-serve release on NewBalance.com on the day at 10:00 ET.
