Following the reveal of their New Balance 204L collaboration ahead of Paris Fashion Week, Zach Kinninger and the Basketcase Gallery crew are back with two more colorways of the elevated silhouette.
Kinninger himself unveiled these fresh makeups and offer a sharper look into the project’s creative range. While it’s still unclear which pairs are slated for retail, the previews suggest more than just a one-off collaboration.
The first alternate is an all-black build that leans heavily into texture. It features a mix of glossy finishes, suede paneling, and pony hair, tied together with a mismatched lacing system — white on the lateral shoe and black on the medial. The look is rounded out with metallic tongue accents and signature co-branding on the insole and heel tab.
A second version keeps the same core design but shifts to a tonal all-black scheme with subtle tonal graphics — possibly a laser-etched pattern — across the entire upper. It retains the same paneling and structure as its sibling pair but opts for a stealthy single-color presentation that plays to more understated tastes.
Lastly, a third alternate 204L was previewed in a striking cream and metallic silver palette. This version sees mesh dominate the upper, with shiny chrome overlays and the same hairy textures seen across the other pairs. It rides atop a clean white sole and swaps the usual dark laces for soft neutrals.
While no official release details have been confirmed, expect the Basketcase Gallery x New Balance 204L to roll out in limited numbers. Based on the original pair's timeline, a special release event could take place soon, followed by a potential wider drop on NewBalance.com
