Concepts x New Balance 57/40 “Headin’ Home” Arrives August 27th

The New Balance blueprint is pretty clear: take a model (new or old) and absolutely hammer it with launch collaborations to guarantee its success. It’s worked for the likes of the 327 and XR-72, and so it is for the 57/40. After linking up with the likes of Bricks & Wood, Staud, and size? It’s time for fellow Bostonians Concepts to come through with their own option with a pair they’ve dubbed the Concepts x New Balance 57/40 “Headin’ Home” — an ode to an old silent movie starring Babe Ruth and America’s favorite pastime.

Sporting the same name as the aforementioned biopic sports film, the pair comes clad with vibrant orange accents that mimic the infield of Fenway Park, the pair returns to signature New Balance suede, engulfing everything from the perforated toe box to the heel overlays in shades of cream, sherbert orange, strong orange, and red. The oversized N at the midfoot features a glossy finish and is painted in hues that reflect the tongue, liner, and other overlays. Underfoot, is a sail, navy and orange sole unit to complete the design, and it comes housed in a special-edition fictional franchise-themed box.

Though no official date has been confirmed, there are, however, whispers of a release in August — so stay tuned for further updates. Concepts has officially revealed the campaign for their “Headin’ Home” collection with New Balance. Alongside the footwear option will be a collection of sweats, tees, and more, all of which will arrive on August 27th. The entire collection will be available right here from the brand’s official webstore from 10 am EDT on the day.
