LORENZ.OG Custom New Balance 860v2 "Dusk" Releases January 18
Lorenzo G. Federici–best known across the internet as @LORENZ.OG–has recently brought his 'Patented Colorschemes ®' to a custom New Balance 860v2.
Over the last several years, the St. Albans-native has hand-dyed popular pairs like the COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Air Max 95 and Off-White x Air Jordan 5, gaining a cult-following in the process. Co-signs from the late DJ Clark Kent and other influential figures in the sneaker space ultimately led to official brand partnerships. LORENZ.OG's latest creative collaboration was initially believed to be another, but his 'Dusk' gradient application to New Balance's retro runner is his own doing.
A representative for the North American company told House of Heat° that the brand is not involved with the project; Federici bought every pair of the NB 860v2 himself.
Teased throughout the last month and unveiled via Instagram, the sneaker falls in line with other work from STUDI.OG, Federici's studio. Y2K-appropriate 'Silver' claims real estate across the upper, but it simply plays a secondary role to the bursts of rich yellow, orange, pink, and purple that take over mesh base layers. Although the gradient makeover is rooted in the creative's exploration of colours, its appearance on the NB 860v2 drew inspiration from a scene close to Federici: the sky over London.
After a curious case of post-and-delete, LORENZ.OG confirmed via social media that his 'Dusk' collaboration will launch at a special pop-up in London on Saturday, Jan. 18. The designer will employ the 'Golden Ticket' method he used for a previous AM95 drop, which requires interested customers to acquire a ticket at a location within London's Soho neighborhood that'll be revealed the morning of via Instagram. Once tickets are in-hand, folks can purchase the asymmetrical pair for £249.99 (approx. $305 USD).
The LORENZ.OG x New Balance 860v2 'Dusk' will be exclusive to the U.K. and won't see a NewBalance.com launch. Pairs, however, will certainly become available on the after-market for a likely high sum.
