While not a focal point of the brand's current lineup, the New Balance 1500 is helping the North American company jumpstart 2025.
Having debuted in 1989, the silhouette was designed by the legendary sneaker designer Steven Smith (of Adidas Yeezy fame, now at Crocs). The model has been produced at New Balance's factory in the United Kingdom since its launch–no small feat in today's market. Although the NB 1500 is far removed from its days as a performance-running option, the sneaker continues to deliver its sports-related components to audiences 36 years after its release.
Salehe Bembury is scheduled to release his own iteration of the Made in England-model, suggesting there are internal plans to make the New Balance 1500 a thing this year. The latest inline style to surface doesn't include any branding hits dedicated to the Los Angeles-based designer, but it features a cool 'Dusty Blue/Black Coffee/Burnt Sienna/Alloy' color palette that wouldn't seem out-of-place within Bembury's catalog. Underfoot, the ENCAP-assisted tooling opts for a faux-aged look.
Enjoy retailer photos of the pair ahead. The latest Made in England shoe is currently available at END. and could hit NewBalance.com in the coming months for $230.
