The New Balance 1906W "Ice Wine" is Now Available
The New Balance 1906R has evolved beyond just another model in the Boston-based brand’s expansive catalog—it has become a standalone entity with its ecosystem of variations. From bold reimaginings like the New Balance Loafer to the more subtle 1906U, the silhouette has continued reinventing itself, now introducing its latest iteration: the New Balance 1906W.
This fresh addition to the 1906 family is marked by a sleeker, more refined design, swapping out the tech-heavy leather overlays that defined the Y2K aesthetic of the 1906R for a streamlined "Stability Web" framework on either side. Beneath the structural layers, a new knitted mesh construction enhances breathability and flexibility, modernizing the shoe while maintaining its familiar sole unit and heel cage.
The debut “Ice Wine” edition sets the tone for the 1906W’s launch, pairing soft pink and muted grey hues for a subtle yet sophisticated aesthetic. The gradient execution across the sidewall webs adds a dynamic visual touch, while cream-colored laces offer a contrast that balances the pastel-heavy palette. Hexagonal detailing at the tongue further elevates the design, adding a layer of textural complexity to the streamlined look.
The New Balance 1906W "Ice Wine" will be released here on NewBalance.com on February 19th, 2025.
