New Balance 2002R “Year of the Ox” Celebrate Chinese New Year in Subdued Stlye

While rivaling brands have ordinarily opted for gold and red hues to decorate their Chinese New Year efforts, New Balance has taken a much more literal approach as we enter the Year of the Ox, with two colorways of the 2002R that channel the beast’s natural surrounding environment.

Aside from the insole’s Ox-shaped graphic, the pairs are relatively subtle in its inspiration, marking little with any overt CNY motifs, instead opting for muted black and mossy suedes respectively. The former provides greater contrast through the introduction of light grey suedes and pops of red throughout, while the other option from the pack is settled in tonal olive atop a blacked-out sole unit.

Grab a detailed look at the understated duo here below, and if you can’t wait for their inevitable NewBalance.com release, you can scoop up both pairs right now, right here on eBay
