Teddy Santis continues to amaze with his freshman Made in USA series with New Balance, as he puts his signature touch on some of the brand’s most iconic runners. Though most of those have been clad in Aime Leon Dore-like schemes, his next effort sees a return to heritage trainers of the late 1980s, with this New Balance 990v2 “Castlerock” channeling staple dad sneakers of the era.

Anchored in a light blue mesh, the pair’s navy and grey suede overlays add significant softness — and contrast — to the release. Plush woven laces and clunky midsoles buy into the retro aesthetic through sail tints, with world-renowned silver midfoot N’s resting at the midfoot and classic black rubber outsoles adding to the heritage charge.
