The New Balance 990x Made in USA series, thanks to Aime Leon Dore’s Teddy Santis, has seen a colossal rise to the top of the lifestyle sneaker market. It’s tasteful colorways, premium tooling, and, of course, Teddy’s name attached, have given the Boston-based brand a big boost. And it’s colorways like this new effort in brown and purple that continues the charge.

Anchored in vivid purple mesh, the pair looks to a classic outdoor aesthetic with brown and olive suede overlays. Add to that bright white and bold black midfoot motifs, striking orange liners, and a no-nonsense sole unit underfoot, and you’ve got a pair that ostensibly channels the trail trainers of the 1990s.
