The New Balance 997 Sport “Taxi” Touches Down This Week!
Helped along by back-to-back bangers from Bodega last year, the adoration for the New Balance 997 Sport came on stronger than a thirsty dude on Tinder. Since then, we’ve seen a slew of crisp general releases, from classically-colored optionsto vibrantly inspired editions. This next pair fits into both of those categories, with the time-tested “Taxi” colorway taking its talents to the hybrid silhouette.
Arriving in classic Taxi Yellow, Black, and White, the pair pops a base layer of mixed meshes; black on the toe and tongue, and yellow at the heel, with middle layer overlays arriving in both black textile and reflective at the midfoot and toe respectively.. Yellow suede panels cap off the upper, covering the vamp and toe, with a splash of the hue returning on the heel’s midsole insert. Black and white sole units come complete with check print at the lateral forefoot — a pattern that returns on the heel pull — and the pair is complete with monochrome ‘N’ motifs on across the midfoot, and special-edition insoles.
Take a peep at the New Balance 997 Sport “Taxi” in detail below, and look for pairs to hit select stores like Jimmy Jazz on February 8th for $100.
In related news, New Balance will be reissuing their bi-decadal 1300JP later this month.
