The New Balance 997s Surfaces in an Oh-So-90s Colorway

The New Balance 997S, a modernized, sport-infused take on the classic 997, has hit the ground running since its inception earlier this year. From two highly sought after Bodega collaborations and another co-branded iteration by Deon Point of Conceptsalong with a slew of colorful GRs — fans new and old have flocked to the vibrant palates and modernized design. Now it returns in yet another audacious take, this time sporting more subdued tones and heavy-duty CORDURA fabrications, making these a perfect go-to for Fall.

The rugged CORDURA ripstop upper arrives at the toe and collar for superior durability, while a purple neoprene bootie at the midfoot/tongue provides that ultra-cozy feel. It wouldn’t be New Balance without the use of some for of shaggy suede, which is present in purp on the mid and toe overlays. Plastic panels on the profile pop in purple and pink, while an oh-so-90s black speckled midsole pairs with pops of teal — a combo that’s also represented on the tongue branding. Completing the design are reflective hits on the heel and on the iconic “N” motifs.

You can expect pairs to touch down at Select stockists like Foot District, 43einhalb and NewBalance.com over the coming weeks for a cool $120.
