Although New Balance is better known for its running footwear, the Boston-based brand has a rich, albeit, short-lived history in the world of basketball. Recent times have seen the heritage brand claim some real estate on the NBA hardwood thanks to the likes of Kawhi Leonard, Jamal Murray, and Zach LaVine. The brand's all-new P350 aims to continue to trend.

At quick glance, savvy fans of New Balance Basketball might confuse the newly-surfaced sneaker as the latest addition to the Hesi Low series, but closer inspection reveals the model as a standalone design. It's possible the product was developed with every intent on being the Hesi Low V3, but the team behind the project might've wanted to commemorate the company's hoops legacy from the 1980s.

Back in the day, New Balance provided a healthy number of footwear options for players like M.L. Carr and James, Worthy. Silhouettes followed a P-naming scheme (e.g. P740, P480). The NB P350 fits in with this legacy.

Shape-wise, the latest N-branded basketball shoe isn't too dissimilar from what the Hesi Low series had been providing. Tech-wise, the sneaker features a breathable mesh upper that's supported by a skeletal synthetic/TPU structure. Underfoot, dual-density FuelCell foam enables smooth transitions between movements, as well as comfort throughout the course of high-intensity games. Multi-directional rubber tread rounds out the package, ensuring the P350 performs when it matters most.

Enjoy detailed shots of the inaugural P350 ahead. Pairs of the white, black, and blue style are scheduled to release via NewBalance.com on Wednesday, Feb. 11, for $120. More colorways are expected to drop throughout the year.
