The annual celebration that is New Balance "Grey Day" is the Bostonian institution's answer to Air Max Day. And while they didn't invent the color, the subdued hue has become synonymous with the brand and everything it stands for; the brand's commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and timeless style, as well as the unique role grey sneakers have played in the sneaker culture.
The tradition pays homage to the company's iconic grey sneakers, which have been a staple of their product lineup since the 1980s. Grey Day is typically observed on a specific date in May, though the exact date may vary from year to year.
This year, it's May 12th.
Eleven pairs will be released this year, including the fan-favorite 550, the all-new 990v6, and the beloved 996 and 998 silhouettes. We're also getting a duo of skate shoes and the all-new Fresh Foam More Trail v3, which may arguably be the best of the bunch.
