New Balance has been busy with its mainline Made in USA 990 series, but it's also found time to breathe new life into other product lines. After launching the Fresh Foam BB v3 with Bricks & Wood, the New England-based company has reimagined its Numeric 440 v2 Trail Low in another colorway.
A trail-ready take on the skateboarding sneaker based on one of the brand's oldest basketball shoes, the NB# 440 v2 Trail Low has yet to see the popularity of other styles from the New Balance catalog. Its breathable and high-quality build, however, deliver a compelling package for traversing off-road. The skateboarding-informed upper is a lot lighter than your traditional hiking boot – including the New Balance Rainier once reworked by Joe Freshgoods. Its pebbled leather N branding on the sides and Achilles' heel deviate in a 'Deep Ocean' tone, while the surrounding materials opt for a clean 'Sea Salt' finish.
Underfoot, the sole unit is kept a lot tamer than the top-half, which features bungee lacing and a purple pull tab at the heel. The pair's gum brown bottom screams skate, but the serrated tread pattern promises reliable performance on the trails.
Head over to NewBalance.com right now to secure your pair of the 'Sea Salt' 440 v2 Trail Low for $110.
