New Balance Running is introducing the next chapter of its SuperComp racing and training series in the SC Elite v6 and SC Rebel v1.
Elevated, more aggressive kin to everyday runners like the 1080v15, both new SuperComp additions have been informed by years of athlete insight, a proven track record for innovation, and focus on a healthy blend of comfort and propulsion. Alex Yee (World Champion Triathlete, Four-Time Olympic Triathlon Medalist) and Emily Sisson (American Marathon Record Holder, Two-Time Olympian) were two runners crucial to the development of New Balance Racing's SuperComp Elite v6.
"The innovation in this update raises the bar for race-day footwear," shared Sisson in an official press release.

Some of the "innovation" the American Marathon Record Holder alludes to includes:
- New plate design for increased stiffness & propulsion across the marathon distance
- Infinion foam midsole provides long-lasting, comfortable cushioning & enhanced energy return
- Midsole cutout that allows for enhanced compression of Infinion foam & engagement with carbon fiber plate
- Translucent mesh upper & FANTOMFIT construction creates a barely-there, lightweight feel without sacrificing containment
The New Balance SC Elite v6 weighs 190 grams (6.7 ounces) in a U.S. Men’s size 9.5 D/155g (5.5oz) in a U.S. Women’s size 7 B.
Other specs for the Boston-based brand's latest race-ready silhouette are:
- 8 millimeter drop
- 40mm total stack height at the heel; 32mm in the forefoot
All of these elements come together on the SuperComp Elite v6 to provide a faster, lighter, more propulsive, and "racier" offering than the v5. The v6 releases via NewBalance.com on Thursday, Aug. 6, for $275. A few inaugural colorways are scheduled to launch, with more fast-looking pairs landing over the following year.
By comparison, the SuperComp Rebel v1 has been fine-tuned for training sessions that feel like raceday.
The New Balance design team has reimagined the FuelCell Rebel v5 through the lens of the SC Elite v6, landing on the SC Rebel v1—effectively the first installment of the reworked training franchise. The model is lightweight, responsive, and built for speed—a trifecta that's achievable through the following features and specs:
- Precision-engineered propulsion plate optimized in shape, material & placement
- Infinion midsole foam replaces FuelCell cushioning
- FANTOMFIT technology locks down the midfoot & heel, stablizing the foot during intense training sessions
- Weight: 218g (7.7 oz) in a U.S. Men’s size 9.5 D/174g (6.1oz) in a U.S. Women’s size 7 B
- 4mm drop; 40mm Total Stack Height (36mm at the forefoot)
The all-new SC Rebel v1 releases Thursday, Aug. 20, through NewBalance.com. The SuperComp training shoe is priced at $190, and arrives in sizing for Men and Women.
