First Looks // Stone Island x New Balance RC Elite “1300JP”
Arguably one of the most anticipated collaborative partnerships of 2021 was the newfound union between Stone Island and New Balance. Officially announced back in March of that year, the anticipation built steadily over the proceeding months until their debut RC ELITE touched down in October. Now, as we enter Summer 2022, the two parties known for their premium tooling will rekindle their partnership with a follow-up effort that honors the famous bi-decade 1300JP release.
The label known for its innovative construction and dye methods brings its expertise to New Balance’s foremost in performance footwear through its Tokyo Studio initiative, seamlessly integrating a highly technical aesthetic with NB’s adherence to heritage. Here, Stone Island has honed in on the classic colorway, employing a light steel blue engineered mesh upper and torn-up overlays of light tan that mimic the regarded 1300JP release, all whilst harnessing a contemporary deconstructed look. For this release, Stone Island have forgone its oversized compass logo on the forefoot, instead employing mirrored New Balance motifs; co-branding resides only on the insoles, leaving an exterior free from Stone Island identifiers.
A release date for the next-up Stone Island x New Balance RC Elite is yet to be identified, but it is expected to be announced soon. Until then enjoy a first and exclusive look at the release below and as always, keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further updates.
