Todd Snyder Celebrates a Decade in Business with Special-Edition New Balance 992 “10th Anniversary”

For Todd Snyder, New York is not just his home, it’s his inspiration. For a decade, the designer has been delivering countless pieces that draw inspiration from his surroundings, his memories of the city, and more. It’s evident in both his mainline clothing and his collaborative efforts with New Balance, including nostalgic trips to Hudson Station and weekend journeys to Long Island. So it should come as no surprise that Snyder will once again be honoring his hometown for his self-named label’s 10-year celebration through this special-edition Todd Snyder x New Balance992 “10th Anniversary”

“New York and its skyline have been a long-standing inspiration for me, and gray has been a signature color in our design since the beginning. So, for our 10th anniversary, I wanted to create a version of the 992 that felt like a favorite room in a skyscraper, a sort of gentleman’s library – a couch, bookshelves, a fireplace, and a bar cart,” says Synder

Together, New Balance and Snyder have captured this luxury through greyscale scenes of mesh and suede, with elegant vegetable-tanned leathers capping the eyestays and heels. These are, of course, reminiscent of Todd’s favorite sitting rooms high above the concrete streets of the city. Snyder has also customized the heel counter with a “2011” and “2021” stamp, further celebrating this incredible milestone.
