The YCMC x New Balance 990V5 “Big Checks and No Stress” Honors Yo Fat Federal Tax Refund

The desire to succeed is a concept that nearly everyone can subscribe to in life. Celebrating the mindset of “big checks and no stress,” YCMCand New Balance have connected again with an exclusive 990v5 collaboration that represents the spirit of ambition to achieve success and to settle for nothing less regardless of your craft. Utilizing the “big checks and no stress” ethos as inspiration, the colorway of the 990v5 takes its cues from federal tax refund checks as it features a gradient treatment across the iconic silhouette. Constructed with cream and tidepool pig-suede uppers, this Made in USA model is highlighted with that same color delivery in gradient colored mesh, making it the first 990v5 to receive this mesh treatment.

Carrying that same color execution, the TPU strap and “N” logo on each shoe feature the same cream to tidepool gradation. Each pair will come with a tidepool and red set of laces. Completing the check-themed story, this release comes with a refund check, security printed tissue paper, and an envelope-themed shopping bag.

In conjunction with this sneaker release, a coordinating clothing collection with pieces for both men and women will release alongside the 990v5. The men’s collection consists of a graphic tee, hoodie, and jogger pants, while the women’s collection consists of a graphic tee and leggings.

The YCMC x New Balance collection will be available on Friday, March 6th, 2020, at 10:00 am EST on YCMC.com and in Shoe City retail locations throughout the DMV. The 990v5 collaboration releases in men sizes priced at $175. In addition to the men’s release, grade school, preschool, and toddler sizes will release priced at $100, $80, and $60, respectively. To celebrate the collection release, an in-store launch event will be held at our Minnesota Avenue location in Washington, DC on March 6th from 6-8 pm with one lucky person walking away with an all-expenses-paid trip to Miami.
