Charles Barkley's iconic Air Max2 CB '94 Low is the latest non-skateboarding silhouette to be modified for the sport by Nike SB.

Reported by Sneaker Files, the news arrives after the widespread success of the subdivision's Air Jordan 4 projects, and confirmed rumors of SB-versions of the Air Trainer 1 and Air Max 95.

Nike's skate-oriented series has primarily focused on Peter Moore's Dunk design, which debuted in 1985 as a reliable performance model for basketball. Different trims of the model have been given the Nike SB treatment, which favors Zoom Air cushioning and more padding at the tongue and inner lining.

The Air Max2 CB '94 debuted during an era in which basketball was dominated by "big men," with Sir Charles dominating the paint night after night. The sneaker has been notoriously known for being difficult to get on given its bootie construction, but this detail translates well into sport, as it provides enhanced containment. Skaters have expressed that the best Nike SB projects are those with good board-feel under the forefoot, which Barkley's pair should deliver given it only has an Air Max unit at the heel.

Stay tuned for firm Nike.com release details and official photos of the skate-able Air Max2 CB '94 Low. The pair is expected in a "White/Varsity Red/White/Gum Light Brown" color scheme during the first-half of 2026.
