The music industry has long been one of the most lucrative avenues for footwear collaborations, with artists leveraging their cultural influence to make iconic sneaker moments. From Run DMC’s groundbreaking deal with Adidas to 50 Cent’s Reebok G-Unit line, and the monumental impact of Travis Scott on Nike’s portfolio, music and sneakers have become inseparable. The next name to join this illustrious roster is UK rapper Central Cee, who is set to debut his take on the Air Max 95 in 2025.

As for 21 Savage, his name recently sparked renewed interest in sneaker circles, not for an upcoming release, but for a verse on his feature with Central Cee, where he boldly rapped, “I still want a deal with Nike (On God).”

The line instantly reminded fans of a 2019 teaser that hinted at a possible Nike collaboration: the 21 Savage x Nike Air More Money “Issa.” Though the project never saw the light of day, the leaked design left a lasting impression.

Leaked initially by @akawop on Instagram, the collaboration was never officially announced, leaving fans wondering what could have been.

The UK-born, Atlanta-based rapper looked poised to team up with the Swoosh on the 90s Nike Air More Money silhouette. Early leaks detailed a bold red and black design featuring his signature knife logo on the removable shroud, “21 Savage” branding on the heel decals, and ominous hockey masks embroidered just below the heel tab. The sneaker also included alternate shroud options, allowing wearers to customize their pair with phrases like “ISSA,” “Knife,” and “Savage Mode.” The design was rounded out with insole graphics of gold bars, celebrating the rapper’s iconic mixtape and lavish persona.

Interestingly, 21 Savage was previously reported to have a deal with Adidas Originals, but the leaked images suggested a potential pivot to Nike. Whether the adidas deal had ended or this collaboration was just an unfulfilled concept remains unclear.

The Air More Money “Issa” paired its vibrant red upper with black accents on the outsole and overlays, delivering a striking aesthetic. Its customizable details and nods to Savage’s brand would have likely made it a hit among fans and collectors alike. While the collaboration never materialized, the hype surrounding its concept remains alive.

With 21 Savage publicly signaling his interest in a Nike partnership, perhaps the “Issa” sneaker—or something just as bold—could eventually make its way to shelves. For now, fans can only hope that the Swoosh and Savage officially ink a deal. Would you cop a pair if it happens?
