Despite exiting the game early due to a head injury, A'ja Wilson left a lot to talk about in last night's match against the Los Angeles Sparks. The WNBA center debuted a "Storm" Player-Exclusive (PE) of her popular Nike A'One signature model.
Thought built with the same performance technology found in "Pink A'ura" and "Indigo Girl" styles, Wilson's latest exclusive pair features a mismatched color scheme between right and left shoes. The former favors a darker makeover and dons yellow profile swooshes; by contrast, the left A'One opts for a predominantly "White" finish that keeps things two-tone. Both sides, however, include lightning graphics on the profiles, touching on the "Storm" moniker.
Neither party involved has disclosed a backstory to the project thus far. "Storm" could simply be a playful way of alluding to Wilson's dominance on the court (including against the Seattle Storm). It could also nod to the athlete's semblance to the Marvel superhero of the same name whenever she dyes her hair silver.
It's still uncertain whether or not the mismatched A'One by Nike Basketball will see a public Nike.com release, but it's possible. Stay tuned for details.
