Air Max 1 “Evolution Of Icons” Arrives Air Max Day

The Nike Air Max 1 has been a sneaker staple for 34 years, and over its illustrious career, it’s inspired everything from running to basketball to lifestyle divisions. This latest release aptly named the “Evolution Of Icons”, attempts to pay homage to the AM1 by showcasing design elements from almost 4 decades of Air.

The brainchild of the legendary Tinker Hatfield subtly tips the cap to its creator by displaying OG color splashes throughout. The predominantly white core of the shoe is comprised using a plethora of textiles including leather, nubuck, rubber, plastics, and highly reflective 3M synthetics. The AM95 is clearly represented on this release thanks to bold red lace stays, and other silhouettes (all listed on the insoles) are given the nod thanks to the varying Swooshes, toe box designs, and alternating tongue branding. Underfoot sits and a white and navy blue midsole capped off by tri-toned black, white, and red rubber outsole. Completing the look is the “History of Air” insoles and the obvious clue as to its release date with the debossed “3.26” (AKA Air Max Day) stamped across the heel of the left shoe.
