A brand-new Nike Air Max silhouette has surfaced — and it’s already getting the collective tick of approval from social media sneakerheads.
Blending design aesthetics from past and present this Air Max 270 dubbed “Pre-Day” looks to retro runners from the late 1970s for inspiration, and is overhauled for an out-of-this-world appeal. Classic traits like nylon uppers, suede overlays, white and gum sole units, and extended nylon tongues honor the bygone era, whilst the jagged suede cut-outs and ultra-chunky Air Max unit in the rear transform the silhouette into the 21st Century. This first sample is evidently part of Nike’s annual BeTrue collection, with Rainbow Flag heel pulls, special tongue branding and gradient Swooshes all honoring the month-long celebration, but with its omission in the collection’s unveiling, it’s unclear if this celebratory sneaker will see a release for Pride 2020.
It may well be a surprise release, or it simply has missed production deadlines due to COVID-19 — but even if we don’t see this pair release, we’d still like to see some other GR options hit the market in the near future. Should any further developments arise on this or other “Pre-Day” colorways, we’ll be sure to keep you updated right here on our official Twitter account.
