Nike Adds Weaves to the Air Max 95
Wavy weaves.
Nike‘s next take on the Air Max 95 is an intriguing one. The silhouette, which comes inspired by Sergio Lozano’s envision of rain eroding the Earth, comes layered which horizontal waves in a land-slide like effect. Lying underneath the overlay are almost-vertical lace stays, which have remained hidden beneath the land-shifting design for over 20 years. Until now.
The Beaverton boys and girls have brought them to the surface in a basket-woven effect, similar in nature to the infamous side weave of the Nike Air Footscape. The first colorway to surface utilizes an almost-OG “Neon” like base, utilizing both its gradient Grey overlays and Neon Green lacestays. The latter, which is not semi-exposed through the all-new weave effect, also sports a top-to-bottom gradient effect, moving from vibrant Noen Green up top to an earthy hue at its base. Moving away from the OG’s design, this pair opts for jet-black toe caps, lower gradient panels and lining, with the addition of bright blue on the heel Swoosh and insoles, and vibrant red on the outsole and stowed away inside the Air Unit.
