Nike Basketball has released dozens of iconic silhouettes since the late 1970s. One such model that has historically been overlooked is the Air Worm Ndestrukt, a low-top sneaker built for the incomparable Dennis Rodman.
In recent memory, the former Chicago Bulls star has made headlines for matters outside of basketball, but longtime NIKE, Inc. designer Franklin Cooke has shun the spotlight on Rodman by taking to his Instagram account to tease the return of the Nike Air Worm Ndestrukt from 1996.
A couple of Rodman's signature shoes have returned in limited numbers over the last decade, but it's possible that the Swoosh is considering its biggest push of "The Worm"'s footwear yet given that 2026 marks 30 years since a model like the Air Worm Ndestrukt. However, it's important to note that Cooke's teaser consisted of a picture of an original pair of the shoes accompanied by the caption "Twist."
It's still too early to know exactly how the retro will look, but what's expected is that the Nike design team plays around with branding, materials, and color schemes.
