Another day, another cartoon-inspired Nike A'Two P.E. by A'ja Wilson.
On Aug. 11, the Las Vegas Aces took on and defeated the Washington Mystics. Wilson laced up a never-before-seen pair of her Nike Basketball shoe, inspired by Nickelodeon's Danny Phantom.
The animated series only ran for three seasons (2004-07), but has left an impression on countless 20-something and 30-something-year-olds for its art style, action-packed episodes, and cool cast of characters. Wilson's "Danny P's," as she referred to the pair on Instagram Stories, is just the latest example of the recently-turned 30-year-old WNBA star drawing inspiration from her childhood for her signature sneaker line. The current season has seen her wear Rugrats-inspired and Mulan-informed Player-Exclusives (P.E.), bringing some playfulness to the competitive WNBA hardwood.
It's unlikely that the ghost portal-inspired A'Two releases via Nike.com at some point, but other story-driven pairs from A'ja Wilson and the Swoosh are expected between now and late September.
