Yoon Ahn has teased a new colorway for her AMBUSH x Nike Air More Uptempo Low.
Echoing the original 1996 design by Wilson Smith, Ahn's latest version retains much of the Uptempo Low's signature elements but in a shorter trim. The infamous "AIR" lettering emblazoned across the profile emerges in a striking, vibrant red, establishing a visual counterpoint to the shoe's otherwise pristine white canvas. The Swooshes and other logos harmonize with the overarching white/red narrative.
The sole unit below doesn't stray far from the established storyline. Sticking to a "colorless" base, it's accented with touches of ruby and black for contrast, again emphasizing the red-and-white dichotomy that would have characterized this release.
According to Yoon Ahn, this tantalizingly unveiled pair is a scrapped sample and will be archived indefinitely. It's a bittersweet revelation for the sneaker community, as the collaboration between AMBUSH and Nike has been widely celebrated for its fresh takes on classic silhouettes; then again, Yoon has been known to break a few hearts with never-to-be-released teasers.
