With Paige Bueckers now in the mix and Arike Ogunbowale continuing her tear as one of the league’s most prolific scorers, the Dallas Wings have built their next chapter around a dynamic duo. While the team’s record might not yet reflect that promise, Nike’s latest player-exclusive release certainly does.
The Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Arike Ogunbowale” PE recognizes the four-time All-Star with a sleek new design, one that balances flash and elegance in perfect proportion. Unlike the bold red GT Cut 2 she received in 2023, this PE takes a softer route, beginning with a pink synthetic upper that shifts subtly across its layered construction.
The Kobe 5’s trademark Flywire cables and TPU overlays arrive in chrome and cool grey, creating a dynamic visual break from the warm base. Up top, the tongue features a unique angular layout, delivering another modern update to the iconic silhouette. Metallic gold Swooshes on both the medial and lateral sides bring the design home — a fitting nod to Ogunbowale’s growing trophy case and leadership role within the Wings organization.
Though Nike has yet to confirm a retail release for the Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Arike Ogunbowale,” the brand has been more open recently about turning select PEs into general drops. For now, however, this colorway appears to remain exclusive to Arike, seen both in the studio and on-court during the 2024 season.
With Caitlin Clark dominating headlines, this latest drop quietly reinforces that Ogunbowale remains one of Nike Basketball’s most important signatures in the WNBA space.
