When you think of Japan’s colossal sneaker scene, there’s always one thing that comes to mind: atmos. Themselves responsible for some of the best sneaker collaborations to ever hit the market, the authority in Japanese footwear has played a significant role in the flourishing Asian market. Part of that, too, is Nike’s two-decade-old CO.JP series of regional exclusives for the nation — a project that has been helped along by atmos. It makes sense, then, for atmos to be tapped by Nike to raise this Nike CO.JP Archive in Tokyo.
The pop-up installation houses over 20 years of sneakers, from the widely known CO.JP releases to those barely known; the rarest situated within the safety of a glass showcase. Even the storefront is a spectacle, constructed to resemble the iconic orange box from Nike’s early 2000s era.
Grab a look at the space below courtesy of Hirofumi Kojima, and if you’re lucky enough to be in the region, you can view in person at 150-0001 3-16-9 Sendagaya, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo from August 19th to August 25th between 11 am and 7 pm.
