Edison Chen is the next big name tapped to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Nike’s OG runner, with a collaborative CLOT x Nike Cortez collection coming in 2023, as per Sole Retriever
The first track shoe released by Nike under their Swoosh banner, 1972’s Cortez has often been attributed to the brand’s initial success. The shoe was introduced to the general public at the peak of the 1972 Summer Olympics. The demand for the shoe grew exponentially nearly immediately after the public noticed that U.S. Olympic athletes were using the Nike Cortez. In the years proceeding, it went from an iconic runner to popular culture icon, to the streets of LA — and it never once lost its initial charm.
Edison Chen and his CLOT imprint will be delivering three takes on the trainer, all of which are yet to be sighted.
