The Gnarhunters x Nike SB Dunk Low Drops May 24

Skate legend, 4x X Game gold medalist, and long-time Nike SB athlete Elissa Steamer has been the figurehead of women’s skateboarding for well over two decades. Despite this, Steamer is rarely celebrated in the sneaker world, with her last seen sneaker coming by way of 2019’s Gnarhunters x Nike SB Blazer Mid. Elissa’s label will return to Nike SB in 2022, with the surfacing of a brand-new Gnarhunters x Nike SB Dunk Low.

First looks at the pair show that Steamer’s tastes have not changed in three years, with her 2022 Dunk once again delivered in a simple black and white scheme. Toweling/Chenille uppers also nod to the previous SB Release, but here we see a bevy of new textural finishes, including twill overlays, and Velcro Checks, as well as an added speed lacing system for easy tightening whilst planted to the deck. Gnarhunters branding runs rife, with oversized tongue labels, added hangtags, and GNAR lettering in the rear all making themselves known. Lastly, Elissa’s love for surfing makes an impromptu appearance on the insoles, with mismatched “Fun Screen” and snorkel motifs dressing yellow and black liners.
