First Look: GOYAGOMA x Nike Air Max 97 Surfaces in Sample Form
Fresh off her Paris Fashion Week debut earlier this year, Traiceline Pratt is already pushing her label into new territory. GOYAGOMA has unveiled an early “work in progress” look at its collaborative Nike Air Max 97 — and the result is a stripped-back yet exaggerated interpretation of the iconic runner.
At first glance, the GOYAGOMA x Nike Air Max 97 appears almost entirely monochrome. The sample pairs shown lean heavily into blacked-out finishes, with layered leather mudguards replacing the traditional reflective ripples that typically define the silhouette. Mesh underlays remain, but the overall execution feels denser and more sculpted — less sport, more statement.
The design walks a fine line between minimal and maximal. From a distance, it reads clean and uniform. Up close, the detailing tells a different story: stacked panels, textured leather overlays, thickened piping, and extended pull tabs that give the heel a more utilitarian presence. The Air midsole stays true to the 97’s DNA, though even here the all-black execution sharpens the model’s profile.
One of the more intriguing sample variations features a contrasting sail-colored Swoosh element at the lateral side, almost appearing as an appliqué or removable piece — reinforcing the idea that these are exploratory builds rather than finalized product.
As it stands, the GOYAGOMA x Nike Air Max 97 is still firmly in sample territory. Pratt’s team has framed these as developmental pieces, meaning the final retail version — if it reaches production — could look markedly different. At this stage, it’s unclear whether a public release is planned at all.
Still, for a label fresh off its runway introduction, this collaboration signals serious ambition. The GOYAGOMA x Nike Air Max 97 may be unfinished, but it’s already making noise.
More details are expected as development continues.
