Hybrid training is on the rise and Nike has taken notice.

Today, the brand officially announced Nike Hybrid, an all-new performance footwear system built from the ground up to ensure hybrid athletes have their versatile cross-training needs met, whether competing in HYROX or not.

Nike Training has taken hours of athlete insight—including feedback from champion hybrid athletes Dylan Scott and Lauren Weeks—to deliver two distinct models: Nike Hybrid Fly and Nike Hybrid RN. Both offerings come together to disrupt the HYROX training shoes space by providing competition-ready innovation and daily-training resilience in uniquely-Nike packages.

Nike Hybrid Fly: Built With Race Day Speed & Traction

Designed specifically for competition, Nike Training's Hybrid Fly silhouette brings the Swoosh's industry-shifting road-racing tech and heritage to any hybrid race floor for the first time. Innovation from the AlphaFly series of marathon racers has been fine-tuned for fitness racing, solving for instability issues through a wider, lower-profile base. The HYROX-ready model also includes reimagined directional tread that's been carefully considered for platform grip for sled pushes and other strength stations.

    Key Race-Day Features:

    • Full-length ZoomX Foam Cushioning, Nike's softest, lightest & most-responsive foam cushioning
    • Carbon Fiber Nike Flyplate, revolutionary, curved stiffening agent
    • Dual Forefoot Air Zoom units, tech system for high energy-return & impact protection
    • Four-Zone Sticky Rubber Traction, extended directional tread that prevents slippage
    • Lockdown Lacing, engineered to prevent heel movement during station transitions
    • Reinforced Haptic Mesh Upper, lightweight, but structured textile preventing upper blowout caused by lateral movement

Dylan Scott, the Men's Champion of the 2026 HYROX World Champions, wore a prototype of the Nike Hybrid Fly in his title-winning run. He said the following about the hybrid training shoe: "I have always wanted a shoe that ran like the snappy carbon-plated shoes but found a way to put a stable footing and grip out on the race floor as well. I kept finding that I could get two out of three of those aspects but never all three to come together until the Hybrid Fly. It was the shoe I trusted to get the job done, and it did."

Nike Hybrid RN: Built for Daily Hybrid Training

Scott proved that the Swoosh can compete at the highest level of fitness racing, but what about everyday training? That's where the Nike Hybrid RN comes into play.

"Hybrid asks a lot more of a shoe than road-running does," said Lauren Weeks, Women’s Doubles Champion at the 2026 HYROX World Championships. "You’re constantly switching between running and strength movements, so it makes sense to wear something solely designed for both. Having a shoe [Nike Hybrid RN] that can handle those demands lets you focus on your...training instead of thinking about your footwear."

With Hybrid RN, Nike set out to design one of the best HYROX training shoes.

While not as flashy as its Hybrid Fly-counterpart, the fitness racing "workhorse" has been carefully considered to withstand the rugged wear-and-tear of cross-training, taking cues from the Pegasus 42 road-running shoe.

    Key Training Features:

    • ReactX Foam Cushioning, resilient midsole solution
    • Single Forefoot Air Zoom Unit, race day-propulsion
    • Comfort Mesh Upper, breathable, padded construction
    • X-Shaped Upper Overlays, mid-foot lockdown straps for lateral changes in direction
    • Dual-Rubber Outsole, high abrasion-resistance across varied surfaced
