All eyes are on Jalen Brunson as the New York Knicks look to make back-to-back Eastern Conference Finals appearances. The Philadelphia 76ers will surely prove to be a tough opponent, but Brunson and company took Game 1 of the 2026 NBA Eastern Conference Semi-Finals with little issue.
The point guard took the opportunity as a chance to debut a new Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro.
Having unveiled the “Knightfall Vader” Kobe 6 Protro against Atlanta Hawks, Brunson has gained an affinity for unveiling new Player-Exclusive (P.E.) editions of footwear during the postseason. The Kobe 3 hasn't been as easy a sell as other silhouettes within the late Kobe Bryant's signature line, but Brunson's performances are sure to pique some hoopers' interest.
The special pair worn in a decisive victory against the 76ers features an icy blue gradient across the front-half of the shoe. Hits of Statue of Liberty-reminiscent mint green appear throughout the pair, with white covering most of the back-half of the Protro design.
On May 15, Jalen Brunson officially revealed the pair’s name on Instagram, confirming the Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro PE “SSGSS.” Short for Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, the name ties the icy blue gradient colorway back to the Dragon Ball Z transformation, giving the playoff-worn PE a clear reference point beyond its Knicks-friendly palette.
A word on a Nike.com launch has yet to be disclosed by either party involved, but that could change by the end of the year.
