This Jordan Mars 270 “Air Max 180” Recalls MJ’s Dream Team Photoshoot

Spike Lee’s Jordan Spiz’ike and Son of Mars lines have paid tribute to the Jordan Franchise by hybridizing signature silhouettes into modern marvels that stay rooted in the brand’s storied history. The Jordan Mars 270, designed by the son of Mars himself, Jackson Lewis Lee, continues his father’s tradition but takes a few daring steps outside the Jumpman lineage by introducing Nike’s Air Max 270 cushioning to the Air Jordan 4-thru-6 inspired model. Now he’s taking it a step further by introducing another AIr Max inspiration — one that even links back to MJ himself — the Air Max 180.

The OG “Concord” colorway of 1991 icon was, in its own right, a banger. But when Mike popped up in the 1992 Dream Team’s photoshoot in the sneaker, it became immortalized:

It arrives in a complete copy of the OG, all the way down to its textile uppers, suede overlays, and metallic Gold Swooshes — it even includes a 180-inspired “Nike” tag on the lateral ankle. But this Jordan Mars not only pays tribute to the OG Air Max 180 by-way-of material and color, but it also honors the photoshoot picture above, by including a #9 PE embellishment on the inside of the right tongue — Mike’s Team USA jersey number.

Release information for this Jordan Mars 270 “Air Max 180” is not yet known, but being tributed to the Olympics, we’re expected to see this arrive as we edge closer to the Summer Games in Tokyo mid-year.
