10 years at the helm of Gyakusou has sure been a whirlwind for Jun Takahashi. The years, flown by faster than a passing runner. So for Jun, the 10th anniversary was instantly cemented into exercise, with running lying at the core of the collaboration’s ethos.
Takahashi took on the inspiration from a different, personal angle. Speaking that exercise is more a form of meditation than a physical workout, Jun has managed to transform three of Nike’s top-tier runners into high-fashion pieces, without losing their performance identity. The duo of Pegasus Turbos arrives in an earthy, ACG-like combo of golden-yellow, greens, and browns, while the Vaporfly 4% gets hit in a deep burgundy knit. The latter’s Flyknit upper forces its way through a spectrum of shades with it’s interweaved whites and black in the burgundy upper, paired with minimal hits of gold on the midsole and heel clip, and it comes complete with overbranding on the sock liner and medial clip. The Pegasus pairs opt for just one hit of bold branding, riding vertically down the forefoot.
