Nike Baseball Honors Ken Griffey Jr. with $630 Fielding Glove Limited to 240 Pairs

Ken Griffey Jr. might’ve retired from Major League Baseball 15 years ago, but he continues to be an inspiring figure to America’s favorite pastime. Soon, Nike will release a fielding glove as part of its decades-old partnership with the Seattle Mariners’ legend.

Despite efforts across the industry (including the Swoosh’s), no baseball player has been able to have his signature line of products crossover into the mainstream like Griffey Jr.’s did. His Nike Air-cushioned cleats dominated the diamond throughout the ‘90s, with their visible Air Max-donning updates becoming staples in cities across the country. Various footwear models donning the Kid’s Swingman logo returned at the start of the 2020s. More recent years have seen the Air Griffey series slow down on the lifestyle front, allowing performance product for Nike Baseball to return to the spotlight.

The latest Ken Griffey Jr.-approved item produced by the Swoosh arrives in the form of a fielding glove clad in classic Seattle Mariners colors.

The leather glove features a ‘Black/Freshwater’ color combination that matches some of the 55-year-old’s iconic signature footwear. His 24 number is embroidered on the left-hand side, while a swoosh logo nearby opts for a ruby red trim. Hardware on the security strap enjoys a ‘Metallic Silver’ finish not featured on standard pairs of the similar Alpha Edge Fielding Glove. The product’s palm features a shimmering edition of Nike’s Swingman logo for “the Kid,” showing off his sweet swing and effortless backwards-baseball-cap swagger.

Nike Baseball has prepped custom packaging for the gloves. Additionally, the item is individually numbered out of 240, making it a desirable item for collectors of #24's products.

Enjoy an official look at the latest 24-branded product from the Swoosh. The SHA/DO Elite J Baseball Glove is scheduled to hit Nike.com on Thursday, March 27, to coincide with the start of the 2025 MLB season. The item will arrive for right-handed and left-handed athletes.
