Nike continues to explore the synergy between its iconic Dunk and Air Jordan silhouettes, this time by revisiting a classic Air Jordan colorway for the Dunk Low.

For 2024, the brand has decided to infuse a kids-exclusive Dunk Low with the legendary "Black Toe" color-blocking, originally made famous by the Air Jordan 1 in 1985.

Reflecting on Nike's history, the "Black Toe" Dunk Low is not the first instance where an original Air Jordan colorway has been transposed onto a Dunk. This practice dates back to 2006, with the "Jordan Pack" collection debuting at Journey's, including interpretations of various Jordan colorways like the True Blue 3s and Playoff 8s, all reimagined on the Dunk silhouette. Then, of course, the Nike SB Dunk "J Pack" which has seen several iterations over the years.

In 2024, Nike revives this tradition with the Dunk Low GS "Black Toe." The sneaker features black toes and lace collars, crisp white toe-boxes and mid-panels, and gym red accents on the heel, staying true to the "Black Toe" aesthetic. However, the design deviates slightly from the original with a surprising detail — the medial Swoosh is painted red, offering an unexpected and somewhat controversial twist to the classic design.
